Things worth understanding before you order

What "full root access" means here

You receive the root account on a machine with no monitoring agent you cannot uninstall and no control panel you are obliged to use. Install any Linux distribution the platform image library offers, replace the kernel, run containers, change the firewall. If you lock yourself out, we can reinstall the machine — we cannot recover a filesystem you encrypted and lost the key to.

What the included backup is, and is not

Every VPS includes a rolling backup of the previous 24 hours of the system disk. That is one restore point, not a history. It protects you from "I deleted the wrong directory yesterday". It does not protect you from a mistake you notice a week later, and it is not a substitute for your own off-server backups. Under our terms, keeping your own backups remains your responsibility.

Unmanaged, and what we still do

These are unmanaged servers. We are responsible for the infrastructure underneath — the host, the network, the IP allocation, the provisioning. You are responsible for the operating system and everything above it. We will help you interpret a network problem or confirm whether an issue is ours; we will not debug your application configuration for you.

Traffic and bandwidth

Traffic is unmetered in standard United States regions. "Unmetered" refers to volume, not rate: there is no monthly cap, and throughput is still bounded by the link the host gives you. The operator publishes no per-size rate for this range, so neither do we. Fair-use provisions in our acceptable use policy apply to activity that degrades the platform for other customers.

Can I upgrade later?

You can move to a larger tier. It is a migration rather than a live resize: we provision the new instance and you move your data across, which means a short window of your choosing rather than a surprise reboot.

Which operating systems can I run?

Any Linux distribution available in the platform image library, and you are free to replace it afterwards. Windows, Plesk and cPanel availability depends on the region and licensing; ask before ordering if you need one of them specifically.

Is there DDoS protection?

DDoS protection is included at the network level where the region provides it. We describe it as "where included" rather than as a blanket guarantee, because its scope varies by region and we would rather tell you that than print a badge.

Do I get a dedicated IPv4 address?

Yes — every VPS is provisioned with its own public IPv4 address and IPv6 connectivity.

What happens if I cancel?

Cancel from the client area before the renewal date and the service ends at the end of the period you have already paid for. Our full cancellation and refund terms, including the 30-day provision, are set out in the terms of service.
