Billing

Pay the way you already pay

Two processors handle every payment on this site: PayPal, and Stripe. Between them they carry the cards, the wallets and the pay-over-time options below — and which of them you see is decided at checkout, by your country and by what the order comes to.

Who takes the payment

Two processors, and neither of them is us

We do not run a card form. Checkout hands you to PayPal or to Stripe, you pay there, and what comes back to us is whether the payment cleared — which is the only part of it we need.

PayPal

PayPal

Balance, linked bank or card

Sign in with the PayPal account you already have. Your balance, your linked bank account or a card on file — PayPal decides which of those it offers you, the same as anywhere else you use it.

stripe

Stripe

Cards, wallets and pay over time

Everything below runs through Stripe. One checkout, and the methods it shows depend on where you are, what currency the order is in and how much it comes to.

Through Stripe

Cards and wallets

The card networks first, because they work everywhere. The wallets after them, because when they apply they are two taps rather than sixteen digits.

Major credit and debit cards

Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. Credit or debit, and the number is typed into Stripe’s form rather than ours.

  • VISA
  • AMEX
  • DISCVER
  • amazonpay

    Amazon Pay

Pay with the address and payment method already saved to your Amazon account. Nothing new to type, and nothing new to remember.

  • Cash App

    Cash App Pay

Approve the payment in Cash App by scanning the code at checkout, or on your phone if that is where you already are.

  • link

    Link

Stripe’s own one-click checkout. If you have paid a Stripe merchant with Link before, your details are already there.

Pay over time

Two ways to spread a larger order

Both are offered by Stripe at checkout rather than by us, and both are a credit decision made by the provider — not by us, and not on the strength of anything we have told them.

Klarna

Offered on qualifying orders

Klarna splits an order into instalments or defers it. Whether it appears, and which of its plans it offers, depends on the order value and on Klarna’s own decision at the moment you check out.

zip

Orders over $250

Zip appears once the order goes above $250. Below that figure it is not offered at all, so a smaller order will not show it however you look for it.

We do not see the outcome of a credit decision, we are not a party to the agreement you make with Klarna or Zip, and a declined instalment plan is not a declined order — every other method on this page is still there.

The small print that is not small

What actually happens when you pay

  1. The card form is never ours

Checkout hands you to the processor and the number is entered there. It does not pass through this site, and it is not stored on a machine we operate.

  2. What you see depends on where you are

Stripe decides which methods to show from your country, the order currency and the amount. A method missing from your checkout is that decision, not a page that forgot to list it.

  3. The invoice is in the client area

Every payment produces an invoice you can open, download and pay again from — including the ones a card paid automatically on renewal.

  4. Renewals use what you last paid with

A method saved at checkout is what the next invoice tries. Change it in the client area and the change applies from the following invoice.

Ready when you are

Nothing to arrange in advance

Pick a machine and the payment methods you qualify for are on the checkout page. There is no application, no deposit and no call.
